The material study visualises the shaping force of different water currents. This means that the object itself is a materialisation of a natural force, the vortex. It confronts the balance between randomness and control.
The liquid wax solidifies in water. Since the object mirrors changes in the vortex it can be controlled to a certain degree by adjusting the temperature, quantity or turning speed. Thereby the designer becomes a co-creator in the process with a natural force, which always inhabits an element of unpredictability.
